One command. A safer server.
Server Shield is a small program you install on any Linux or Windows server. It closes common weak spots, blocks password guessing and watches the machine from the inside, day and night.
Bots start knocking on a new server within minutes.
Automated scanners sweep the internet around the clock, looking for fresh servers with open ports and default settings. Most servers are set up in a hurry and never locked down afterwards. Server Shield does that work for you.
Install it in one line.
Copy one command into your server. It connects to your BurstLayer account and starts checking the machine straight away.

One command on Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat, Rocky, Alma and Windows Server.
Closes common weak spots

Stops password guessing
Addresses that keep failing to log in are blocked on all your servers at once.
Spots changed files
Important system files are watched. If one changes unexpectedly, you'll know which file, when, and what changed.

Unknown programs that suddenly use lots of power, like hidden crypto miners, are flagged and can be stopped.

What it guards against.
Remote login guessing
Bots trying thousands of passwords on SSH or Windows remote desktop.
Ransomware
Programs that lock your files and demand payment. We watch for the sudden mass changes they cause.
Hidden crypto miners
Someone using your server's power to mine cryptocurrency for themselves.
Backdoors
Hidden accounts or programs left behind so an attacker can come back later.
Open ports
Services left reachable from the internet that never needed to be.
Outdated software
Packages with known weaknesses that attackers can look up in public lists.

Every server you run, guarded from the inside.
Server Shield works the same on one small VPS as on a whole rack of machines.
Questions, answered.
What people usually ask before they turn on Server Shield.
Which operating systems are supported?+
Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, Amazon Linux and Windows Server 2016 or newer.
Does it need root or administrator access?+
Yes, so it can apply fixes and read system logs. Every change it makes is listed in your dashboard, and nothing changes without your rules allowing it.
Could it lock me out of my own server?+
No. Before turning off password logins, Server Shield checks that you have another way in, such as an SSH key, and keeps an emergency way back in through your hosting provider's console.
Do I need to open any ports?+
No. The agent only makes outgoing connections to BurstLayer.
How do I remove it?+
Uninstall it with one command or from the dashboard. Your server keeps the settings you approved.

Each product is useful on its own. Together they cover the whole path an attacker would take.
