The Echo Block.
A solid block with two outline layers breaking away up and to the right. Three ideas in one shape, simple enough to read at 16 pixels.
- The layerTwo outlines stand behind the block: the protection BurstLayer puts between your systems and the internet.
- The burstThey break away up and to the right, the way an attack scatters when it hits the layer.
- The cursorThe solid block is a blinking cursor. Something is always running, always watching.
How the mark is built.
It sits on a 32-unit grid. The block is 16 units square, and each outline steps 5 units up and to the right. The outlines stop 2 units short of the layer in front, so the mark never needs a background behind it.
Lockups.
Use the horizontal logo by default. Use the stacked one where width is tight, and the mark alone once the name is already on screen.
Horizontal, on paper. The default.
Horizontal, on night.
On the burst gradient, the mark turns to ink.
Stacked, for narrow spaces.
Mark only, once the name is visible.
Wordmark only, for text-heavy layouts.
a swarmz company.
BurstLayer is part of the swarmz family. The endorsement says so quietly: always after or below our logo, always smaller, and swarmz always in lowercase.
Horizontal endorsement.
Stacked endorsement, on night.
Do
- Write swarmz in lowercase, with its orange dot.
- Place the endorsement after or below the BurstLayer logo.
- Keep it smaller and quieter, about half the logo’s height.
Don’t
- Never capitalise it as Swarmz or SWARMZ.
- Never put it before or above the BurstLayer logo.
- Never redraw, stretch or recolour the swarmz wordmark.
Alternate marks.
Three directions we explored before choosing the Echo Block. They stay in the kit for motion and special uses, never as the main logo.
Strata
Three layers split by one diagonal burst. Kept for motion graphics and section openers.
Aperture
Layers opening around a hot core. Kept for loading states and the live indicator in the app.
Prompt
A layered command prompt and a live cursor. Kept for developer material and the command-line tool.
Space and size.
Give the logo room to breathe, and never shrink it past the point where it stops reading.
Mark: 16 px
The smallest the mark appears, for example in a browser tab.
Logo: 96 px wide
Below this, use the mark on its own.
Colour.
Warm paper and midnight blue carry the pages. Orange is the one colour that asks you to act, so we use it sparingly.
Paper
Page background. Warm, never pure white.
Card
Cards and panels that sit on paper.
Ink
Text and the main button.
Night
Cinematic chapters and the footer.
Snow
Text on night.
Burst
The colour that means act: buttons, live states, emphasis.
Ember
The hot end of the burst gradient.
Amber
The warm end of the burst gradient.
Peach
Soft highlights and the background glow.
Rose
Background glow only, never for text.
Mint
Fixed, safe, done.
Alert
Attacks and emergencies, nothing else.
One typeface.
Everything is set in Geist, the same family swarmz uses. Size and weight do the work. Geist Mono appears only where people copy code or commands.

Body text sits at 17 to 22 pixels, with generous line spacing, in warm dark grey on paper.
How we sound.
Plain words, said calmly. Every message says what happened, what we did and what is left for you.
